Guests with disabilities can access tailored support to ensure a comfortable experience throughout their journey.

Wheelchair service
dnata offers wheelchair assistance to departing guests from the check-in counters to their boarding gate. This service can be arranged during ticket booking or at the airline’s check-in counter. Arriving guests should identify themselves to the attendants at the arrival gate if they have booked for special assistance.

dnata’s team is trained and certified based on US standards (Air Carrier Access Act) and provide expert care using equipment such as wheelchairs, leg supports, infant belts, and buggy cars. Personal wheelchairs can be checked in, and a dnata wheelchair will be provided for use throughout the airport journey.

 

Suitable wheelchairs

dnata offers STAXI with a convenient baggage stowage area beneath area (27” wide, 39” long) as well as conventional wheelchairs in three sizes: Width: 18”, 22”, 24”.

Costs

Wheelchair services are complimentary for People of Determination.
Customs declaration

Dubai Customs offers dedicated counters with employees trained to assist People of Determination. These counters provide services for obtaining clearance and reserving inspections for goods being transported into or out of Dubai.

Terms and Conditions
Commercial goods carried by guests should be appropriate for customs duty and VAT.
Some goods, such as cash and certain commercial goods, must be declared.
Documents must be provided and submitted to the customs authorities (invoice/packing list/no objection letter) if requested.
Smart Mobile App
iDeclare, available on the App Store, links with a declaration system allowing People of Determination to submit a customs declaration. This provides a quick and secure transfer of information to guests on customs rules and regulations, helping to reduce waiting times. The app can also take a photo of any goods and automatically describe the items.

Passport control assistance

People of Determination can access dedicated support at passport control checkpoints through GDRFA’s specialised counters. Trained employees are available to assist guests with disabilities.

For departing guests using wheelchairs, attendants will escort them directly through the dedicated lane. Upon arrival, airport employees provide assistance with clear signage guiding guests to the designated lanes for a smoother experience.
